Founded in 1989 by Mr. Ravindra Prabhudesai and his father, Late Mr. Vamanrao Prabhudesai, Pitambari Products Pvt. Ltd. has been committed to delivering innovative products across Home, Health, Food, Pooja and Agri segments, along with services such as Agro Tourism, Shoppy Franchise & Nursery Franchise.

Our multiple state-of-the-art manufacturing plants at Angaon (Thane), Talawade (Maharashtra), Tamhane (Maharashtra), Dapoli (Maharashtra), Vadodara (Gujarat), Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Hyderabad (Telangana), maximize our capability.

1985-1989

Our journey towards making people’s lives simpler began in 1985 when Pitambari Company was established under the brand name "पितांबरी" (derived from पितळ + तांबं), rooted in household needs. It began as AV Cleaning Products (Partnership) alongside associated firms, namely, Mhalsa, Cardinal, Klenz, and InLAN. A small team of just 50 but highly passionate people set out on a journey of growth and innovation in the cleaning products industry.

1998-1994

During this period, Pitambari Products Pvt. Ltd. was established through the merger of our associated companies. We introduced Pitambari Shining Powder, Steel Powder, and Dishwash Bar, which received a great response and achieved remarkable success in Mumbai and Pune. Our iconic ad campaign, "बायको गेली माहेरी, काम करी पितांबरी", featuring popular actor Prashant Damle, took us to homes across Pune and defined our identity and credibility.

1995-1999

This was the phase of both consolidation and expansion. We built a modern factory setup and established an R&D facility at Rabale to drive innovation. A second manufacturing unit was launched in Baroda, enhancing our production capabilities. This growing production capacity allowed us to enter new markets in Karnataka and Gujarat, marking a significant milestone in our growth and market presence.

2000-2004

At the turn of the century, we strengthened our organizational structure by establishing an in-house ad agency and dedicated departments for HR, Accounts, Marketing, and Sales. The idea was to cater better to the needs of the people. Expanding into healthcare, we launched Vasundhara Baby Massage Oil and CureOn Oil. Additionally, our new products Gomay (vermicompost) and Rooperi entered households, while building a robust distribution network of 200 distributors across markets.

2005-2009

It was here that we entered the next chapter of our nationwide growth with a pan-India marketing plan and regional advertising campaigns. To enhance customer engagement and build a robust feedback mechanism, we introduced consumer surveys and better sampling techniques. Expanding our product portfolio, we launched SanitAll Toilet Cleaner and Klenz Power Wash Detergent, while strengthening our distribution network to 500 distributors across the country.

2010-2014

As globalisation became prominent, we realised the need and utility of our products across geographies and expanded our horizons by launching our Export Division. Our innovative spirit pushed us to launch our Edible Oil Division. To enhance market reach, we further strengthened our supply chain by establishing C&F (Superstockists) and a robust network of retailers, ensuring greater accessibility for our products.

2015-2019

As we entered the fourth decade of our journey, we achieved a significant milestone by crossing a ₹100 Cr. turnover. Adding more variety to our product range, we introduced Devbhakti Agarbatti and Pancharas, further strengthening our market presence. Our distribution network also grew to a massive 1,000 distributors, ensuring wider availability and deeper market penetration across regions.

2020-2025

Between 2020 and 2025, we continued our global expansion and embraced digital transformation. What didn’t stop was our commitment to innovation as we launched Ruchiyana Kharwas Premix and Lime Sauce, introduced Agricare, and ventured into a bungalow project in Dapoli. Upgrading from Tally to SAP, our workforce grew to 1,500 employees. With 100 Superstockists, 2,500 distributors, and presence in 3,50,000+ shops, our products has now reached 26 countries, including MNC registration in Nepal.

While our journey has transcended generations and geographies, at its heart, the transfomration is led by just one thing - the desire to make people’s lives easy in things they do at home, in their daily routines.

From a single product to 70+ products today, from one manufacturing plant to multiple state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, from India to 26 countries globally - our evolution is leaving a mark everywhere.

While he founded Pitambari with his father later Mr. Vamanrao Prabhudesai in 1986, Mr. Ravindra Prabhudesai has also been the heart and soul of this journey. Through his simple thinking and innovative approach, he has shaped a brand that synonynmous with convenience across geographies & generations.

Coming from a modest background, he combined his entrepreneurial spirit with honesty to come up with products that would become a pillar of convenience in kitchens and homes across India. He has imbibed the value of 'Grahak Devo Bhava' in the hearts of every individual who works at Pitambari, to ensure the commitment is unwavering and unparalleled.
